BIG STRONG MAN is a hilarious and heartfelt show that explores men’s mental health through interactive cabaret.

Four Northern lads are given the impossible of fixing the men’s mental health crisis in one night. To do this, they need to change the Structure of Masculinity, a towering pyramid of beliefs, pressures and myths about what makes a ‘real man’. The problem is they can’t agree on what to do.

Bonj says we should get rid of these outdated concepts forever.
Winston thinks we need to make men great again.
Gaz knows we should keep to the essentials: work, women, food and the gym.
Timternet has realised they’re all idiots and would rather be playing Pokemon Go.

Each round the audience selects a block from the structure they want to look at. Each block has a corresponding scene, song, game, improvisation or surprise. The audience decides what they want to see, what needs to change and which Host they agree with. Whoever they agree with the most will be crowned The Big Strong Man, deciding the fate of masculinity from now until the end of time.

BIG STRONG MAN is a night of Poundland level extravagance, side-splitting comedy and electrifying performances. Featuring storytelling, song, dance, improvisation, ladders, competition, boy band parodies, lip syncs, placards, blocks, charity shop suits, karaoke and a bear, BIG STRONG MAN promises to be an unforgettable alternative comedy night out.

Part party, part protest.

BIG STRONG MAN is a celebration of northern culture and community spirit which has been developed since 2018 by working with communities from across the North. Using interactive cabaret these fast-paced, skilful performers bring you the captivating atmosphere of a cabaret show or gig. Interaction is encouraged, but not essential - you can simply sit back, relax with a pint and enjoy this physical comedy spectacle/chaotic mess unfold. With over 3000 possibilities, the audience decides what happens. You never see the same show twice, but you always get what the majority wants. Your voice, your choice… just be careful what you wish for.
